Ahmedia Paint & Hardware is a family run store founded in 1964 by the late Mr Adam Sheik Ahmed and his wife, the late Mrs Hawa Adam Ahmed. They opened the first Ahmedia store in Klipfontein Road, Rylands Estate. This store served the community for 35 years, until the premises became too small for the demand of the community, and a larger premises was desperately needed.
In 1999, with the driving force of their second eldest son, the late Mr Abdulmajid Adam Ahmed and his wife, Mrs Fatima Ahmed, Ahmedia was moved to our current premises at Cnr Klipfontein & Pluto Road, Surrey Estate. Mr & Mrs A have been serving the community for more than 23 years, earning the trust and respect of their customers and community, to provide the best possible service and low pricing.
We are a Well-known and Well-respected ‘Everything Under 1 Roof’ Hardware Store, supplying everyone from Major Building Contractors to DIY Solutions. Being in the Hardware Trade for 58 years, we know exactly how to satisfy our customers with quality products, competitive prices and knowledgeable staff.
In the past, we have twice been the recipient of the PMR Golden Arrow Award for being the Top (1st Place) Muslim Owned Company Doing Most In Our Sector Over The Past 12 Months To Stimulate Economic Growth & Development In The Western Cape, in Bathroom & Sanitary-ware, General Hardware and Plumbing.
Hardware runs through the veins of the Ahmed family, and so it was appropriate that the Four Ahmed Sons would follow in their fathers footsteps, each establishing a store across the Peninsula:
